- Energy and water bills: If you are struggling with a power, gas or water bill, ask your provider about its hardship program. If you cannot resolve a dispute, the Energy and Water Ombudsman Queensland (EWOQ) is free to use.
- Court action: If a creditor starts legal action, the claim is usually filed in the Queensland Magistrates Court. Do not ignore court documents. There are strict time limits to respond, so get advice quickly.
- Credit and loans: Complaints about banks, lenders and debt collectors go to Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), which is free and covers the whole of Australia.
